EYRETON SCHOOL.

A very successful concert was Uielcl on Nov. 20 in aid of the prize fund. Songs, ■, recitations and character songs by the '■ children, the Misses Simms and Young j and Messrs Weston and Bennett, formed the first part of the programme. In the second part the operetta, "Britannia's Court," by the school children, proved a great success. The school treat took place on Dec. 9, in a field kindly lent by Mi- H. Clothier. The following is the prize list :— Standard VI. — Arnold fairweather 1, John Moore 2. Standard V. — Fred Giles 1. Standard IV.— Mary Millar 1, Cissie Clothier 2, Winifred Giles and Fred Fairweather equal 3. Standard 111. — Florence Giles, Leila Fairweather, Ada Patersonand Henry Clothier equal 1. Standard II. — Jane Cherry, JaWs Millar and Hunter Millar equal 1. Attendance.— Florence Giles, Fred Giles, Henry Clothier, Fred Fairweather, Daisy Fairweather and Huntev Millar. Good Conduct.— Willie Butters. Needlework. — Class I.^- Winifred Giles, Florence Giles. Class ll.— Cissie Clothier, Ada Paterson. Class lll.— Leila Fairweather, Daisy Fairweather, Florence Moore. Class IV.— Ellen Millar, Maria Beale. The following special prizes were given : Needlework — Mary Millar. Composition Arnold Fairweather J, Fred Giles 2. Murphy, chairman of the School Committee proposed, and Mr Denton seconded, " That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the teacher for the able manner in which she has brought the children forward for the past twelve months." , The motion was carried by cheers.
