AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. Mr J. J. Holland has been three years in succession Mayor of Auckland. He arrived here thirty-six years ago, served in the militia and worked as a carpenter. For many years past he has been a master builder, and has contracted for various large publics buildings. Mr John Bollard is an old resident of the Avondale district, where he has resided I for considerably over thirty years. For twenty-seven years he has been chairman of the Avondalo Road Board. He has been also a member of the Hospitable and Charitable Aid Boards. He is about sixty years of age, and is a prominent agriculturist. He has a farm at Avondalo, and is strongly identified with the farming interest. Mr W. H. Herries is an old resident in the Bay of Plenty district, a farmer by occupation. He is strongly opposed to the present Administration.
