The prospectus of the Royal Standard Hauraki Gold-mining Company of 200,000 shares has been issued, of which 60,000 are offered to the public. — PRETORIA, Nov. 29. The cost of labour and the dyna mite monopoly have caused Mr Barney Barnato's two principal mines to close down. Their stoppage has created sensation throughout the land. AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. Acting 1 under instructions from the Department of Mines, Mr John Gow, Inspector of Mines, Otago, visited the Taumutu and Southbridge portions of the Ninety-mile Beach on Friday last, for the purpose of reporting on the gold-bearing beach sands. Mr Gow was accompanied by Mr W. H. Zouch, who showed him the various sources for water-supply, &c. Mr Gow proceeded to Wellington on Saturday night, and will have presented his report to his department to-day.
