HOW TO VOTE.
"«S» On ; Friday next the electors of Christchurcli will be called upon to make choico of three men to represent them in Paiiia-i ment for a term of three years. They will; also be called upon to record their votesunder the provisions of the Licensing Act. . It 13 of importance, therefore, that everyelector should understand beforehand precisely what he has to. do. For the par-' liamentary election the ballot-paper willi be in the following form :— ELECTORAL DISTBICT OE CHEISTCHUECH. BKSWICK, H. J. • COLLINS, W. W. CULLEN, tV. DONNELLY, M. ELL. H. G. LEWIS, C. MARC.EL. J. A. H. PARTBIDGE, J. T. SMITH, G. J. TAYLOB, R. M. TAYLOK, T. E. .... Directions. , Tlie voter is to strike, out tbe name of every ' candidate for whom lie or she ' does not intend to • vote, by drawing a line through the name with" a ptn or pencil. ■ , Tbe voter must take caro not to leave unexcelled the- names of moro than- three, or the paper will be invalid. The bßllot-paper is to be folded up so that the contents cu.ui.o_ be scon, and having shown tho 'official mark 6n tho buck; to the Hcturningvi-ncer, , tbe ballot -papsr is to be put' into the ballot-box by the voter himself or herself. . No ballot paper i3to be taken out of the pollingbooth. Before entering the polling-booth, it is advisable that each elector should be provided with his or her number on the. roll, much time being saved in this way. It ; may be well to mention the fact that speaking to any voter in the polling booth is an offence for which a penalty of .£2O is . provided. The following is the form of the ballotpaper for the LICENSING POLL. I vote that the number, of licenses existing in the district continue. ■ I vote that the number of licenses existing in the district be reduced. ■ I vote that wo liceuses be granted in the district. GENERAL DIRECTIONS. The voter may strike out ail the proposals except one,' or all except two, but Aio more. • Tho voter must strike ont all the proposals which he does not wish to ba carried. If thovoter strikes out, all, or fails to strike out at least one of tho proposals, the voting-paper will .void. ' ' The voting-paper so marked is to be dropped by the voter mto tha separate ballot-box prepared for it, and not into the Eaine box.as that in which he drops his electoral ballot-paper. The voter-is not allowed to take his voting-paper gut of the polling-booth.
