A number of ladies and children were about at the time, but, though there were some rather narrow escapes, no one was hurt. Ephraim Newman, a German about seventy-three years of age, died suddenly at his residence at East Oxford on Thursday. The inquest on tho body of Emanuel Seaward was held this morning, before Mr Bishop, Coroner, and a jury of six. Dr Parsons deposed to having held a postmortem examination, and found the lungs bearing signs of disease of long-standing. It was the same with the heart and liver, and he attributed death to failure of the heart's action.
