LEESTON.

There was a small entry of sheep, the whole of which were cleai s ed at prices satisfactory to vendors. Pat shorn ewes aud wethers, 12s 9d to 14s 6d ; fat sheep, in wool, up to 18s ; ewes and lambs, in the wool, 12s, 14s 4d to 21s. About 200 cattle were penned, nearly all of which were sold at rates ruling a shade lower than those obtaining recently. Fat cows, for butchers' jJurposes, .£5 to .£5 ss ; fat heifers, up to £o 16s ; springers, .£4 17s Gd, .£5, £7 2s 6d to £7 10s. All sorts of young and store cattle were a shade easier. About 200 pigs were yarded, but there was an absence of bacon pigs, and also of the representatives of the curing trade. Stores of all kinds changed hands at full values.
