Mr E. M. Taylor will give a political address db the Mission Hall, Sydenhain, this evening at eight o'olock. Jlr C, Lewis •will addi-ess • his constituents at the Theatre Royal at eight o'clock this evening. Mr Alfred Saundfirs will address his constituents at the Town Hall, Kirwee, this evening at eight o'clock. A meeting of the Hon W. Rolleston's friends' and supporters will be held in the Prebbleton Schoolroom at eight o'clock this evening. It is understood that efforts are being made to induce Mr W. H. Cooper, exMayor of Chi'istchuvch, to become a candi- • date for the city at the forthcoming general election. Mr George MTntyre announces himself a candidate for the Avon electorate. Mr Er. Moore, a candidate for the Kaiapoi seat, addressed a meeting o£ electors at Ohoka on Saturday evening, and at the close received a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr Bushell was in the chair. Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, a candidate for the Geraldine electorate, addressed the electors at the Volunteer Hall, Geraldine, on Friday night, when there was a good attendance, Mr J. W. Pye being in the chair. A requisition is going round in the Waikato electorate to the Hon A. J. Cadman, and already bears one thousand signatures of electors, who strongly urge Mr Cadiuan to again 6bn : test this seat. The friends and supporters of Sir G. M. O'Eorke are bringing pressure to bear upon that gentleman, with the hope that he will not retire from political life but consent to stand again for his old constituency at the forthcoming general election. To this end they Mill present Sir Maurice with a largely-signed requisition at a public meeting to be held next week at Onehunga, when he will address his constituents and decide on his future course of action.
