NORTH CANTERBURY BICYCLE CLUB.
The twelfth annual meeting of the above club was held at Mr Tombs's Temperance Hotel last night. There was a good attendance, and Mr H. Martin presided. Nine new members were elected. The balance-sheet adopted, showed a small credit with no liabilities. It was decided to accept the Rangiora Athletic Association's invitation to amalgamate for the New Year's Day sports on the same terms as last yeai\ Officers were appointed — Patron, Mr D. Buddo, M.H.R. ; president, Rev F .P. Fendall ; vice-presidents, the Mayor and Mr J. Sansom ; captain, Mr H. R. Martin ; sub-captain, Mr W. Blackett; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. Blake ; committee, Rev F. Dunnage, Messrs A. S. Clarkson, J. Thompson, N. Rout and J. W. Shankland ; bugler, Mr T. Hammon j delegate to New Zealand Cyclists' Association and consul, Mr H. Martin ; delegate to Athletic Association, Mr W. Blackett. A sub-committee was elected to revise the rules. The secretary was instructed to apply to the Alliance for permission to hold a race meeting on New Year's Day ; and also to acknowledge a circular from the Road Riders' Association. The south room in the Domain pavilion was engaged for the use of club members. The opening run was fixed for Oct. 16, from Rangiora to Kaiapoi, returning via Woodend, to leave headquarters at 6.30 p.m. Mr Blake, secretary and treasurer, was thanked for the efficient fulfilment of his duties during the past year, and tlie meeting then ended.
