The report stated that there were 311 members on the rolls, and the list was increasing. The total receipts were .£778. There were 169 companies registered with the Chamber. The importance of this list was becoming more widely recognised, not only in New Zealand bat in England aud on the Continent of Europe. The Council had decided that a mining exhibition should be held in Auckland during the coming year. Mr James Russell was elected president for the enstxing- year.
