CRICKET.

AUSTRALIANS v. LANCASHIEE. [Per Press Association.] LONDON, August 27. The chief scorer 3 in the Australian first innings were: — Donnan 25, Iredale 12, Gregory 22 and Hill 22. Briggs took seven wickets for 63 runs, and Hallam three for 55, Eaker none for 5. The Lancashire team also found the wicket a difficult one to score on, and were all out for 62, or just half that of their opponents. M'Laven, the local skipper, who put on 28, was the only one on his side to reach double figures. JDor.nan and Gregory batted very steadily, and were associated for an hour. M'Laren, too, played a fine innings, and his score included one 6. The wicket, of course, greatly assisted the bowlers, and M'Kibbin, who got on tremendous work, performed the " hat trick." The analysis was : — M'Kibbin six wickets for 27 runs, and Trnmble four for 34. One extra w-jis scored on each side.
