ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
COLLIERY EXPLOSION. [Per Press Association.! PARIS, June 4. By ail explosion at the Koehebelle Colliery, in the south o£ Prance, twenty -five miners were killed. Mr J. Forbes, who has been in thehospital for some weeks suffering from severe injuries received at Spreydon, is now making satisfactory progress towards recovery. Mr J. Hedley, of Seadown, met with a; painful accident a day or two ago. Mr; Hedley found one of his dogs suffering! from poison, and was endeavouring topour an emetic down its throat when it got one of his hands between its teeth and lacerated it considerably. Mr C. B. Kingsley, stock agent of Temuka, met with an accident at Mr De Eenzy*s homestead, Winchester, on Wednesday. He was taking a young horse over some fences in company with Mr De Renzy, and on jumping out of a paddock into the road his horse fell. One of his feet became jammed in the stirrup, and he could not release it until he had been dragged several chains. He sustained severe bruises, but luckily had no bones broken.
