FOES OF LABOUR IN QUEENSLAND.
The Hon T. Glassey, M.L.A., leader of the Labour Party in Queensland, has thanked the Wellington Trades Council for a letter congratulating his party on its "■ success at the recent elections. In his letter to the Council, Mr Glassey states that the defeat of many of the labour candidates was due to the powerful opposition received from employers of labour, the clergy, the banking institutions, and the ■ greater part of the Press of the colony. In spite of that opposition, however, the labour vote alone was fully 30,000, while that of the Government was .only a few thousand more.
