A SCHOOL OF WHALES
A very large school of whales were, says the Mail, playing off the Akaroa Heads on Monday about 10 a.m. They were described as being big sperm whales, and some of them wore rolling and spouting so close in shore that they made many acres of ocean discoloured through stirring up the bottom mud.
