Ltttelton Dairies.— The Lyttelton Board of Health has received a communication from the Government, in reply to its request for authority to make regulations for the inspection of dairies. The Government requires -a copy of the regulations suggested, and has forwarded a copy of those in force in other districts. It is expected that the regulations will be formally approved at the next meeting of the Board.
National Association. — Last night about twenty-five residents and visitors from Christchurch met in the Beach Hall, New Brighton, for the purpose of forming a branch of the National Association. Addresses were delivered by delegates from the council of the Christchurch branch. It wa3 decided to form a branch of the Association at New Brighton, and a committee was elected, Mr Nelson being appointed secretary and Mr Pine treasurer. The various speakers were accorded- a hearty vote of thanks, and a vote of thanks to the Chairman, Mr M'lntyre, concluded the meeting. — -A meeting of the Oxford branch of the National Association was held on Monday night, Mr Ingram in the chair. It was resolved to hold nieetingsfortnightly. Correspondence was read from the Canterbury section and from Amberley. The question of candidates was discussed at some length, and resolutions were passed on the subject.
