ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Mat 14. At the inquest on the boy Kilsby, who died under chloroform, the evidence showed that all precautions had been taken. Death was from pure misadventure, and a verdict was returned accordingly. Dr Chappie was asked if he could explain why there had been so many deaths of late in the colony while patients were under the influence of chloroform. He replied that he could not give an explanation, except that climatic conditions might have had something to do with the matter. He had performed one hundred and thirty-four operations under chloroform, and the present was the first death. LTSTVERCARGILL, May 14.
