FIRES.
[Per, Press Association/] NAPIEE, March 2. Eeports have been received of very extensive fires over the northern portion of the bush districts. Many settlers' houses ancl outbuildings, a church, two schools and much stock have been destroyed, and several settlers barely escaped with their lives. A furious gale carried the fire with extraordinary rapidity, and it clean swept a large area of country.
