FOOTBALL.

♦ KAIAPOI CLUB. The annual meeting of the members of the Kaiapoi Club was held at the drillshed on Saturday evening. Sixty members were present, and Mr Thomas Millar presided. The Secretary (Mr Caverhill) read the, report and balance-sheet, which, on the motion 1 of Mr Millar,' seconded by Mr Alexander, were adopted. The report showed that the number of members was 168, that 32 matches had been played last season, and that 22 had been won, 9 lost and 1 drawn. The receipts had been d 8122 7s 6d, and the expenditure .£lO6 15s lOd, leaving a balance of .£ls 11s' Bd. The election of officers resulted as follows : — President.. Mr G. H. Blackwell (re-elected), ; vice-presidents, Messrs Simpson, Millar and Alexander (re-elected) ; club captain, Mr M. Lynskey; vice-captain, Mr George Forrest; honorary secretary, Mr T. H. Caverhill (re-elected) ; treasurer, Mr B. Roll (unanimously) ; General Committee of five—^Messrs Higgins, Drabble, M'Gregor and Q-. Simpson; Selection Committee — Messrs Drabble, Higgins, M. Lynskey, Lee and Oram ; delegates to Canterbury Rugby Union, Messrs M'Gregor, Lynskey, Caverhill and Higgins. The matter of grounds was left to the committee. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, March 14, and after passing the usual votes of thanks the meeting closed. The Linwood Club rooms will be reopened on Wednesday next, and the annual meeting of the club will be held on Friday. The annual meeting of the St Albans Club will be held in the Knightstown Library on Wednesday next.
