Monday, JYLabch 2. (Before Mr Joseph Palmer, J.P., Mr W. Prudhoe, J.P., and Mr W. Pratt, J.P.) Drunkenness. — Catherine Stevenson, charged with having been helplessly drunk in Park Terrace, was remanded for a week. — Alfred Smith was fined 10s and costs. Assault. — Patrick J. Fitzgerald, a police constable, was charged that at Christchurch, on Feb. 24, 1896, he did assault one Frank Smith and occasion him actual bodily harm. Upon the application of Sergeant-Major Mason the case was adjourned for a week, the accused., for whom Mr Kippenberger appeared, being admitted to bail. .-. Failing to Provide. — Charles Vaile, arrested on warrant, was charged with failing to provide ,for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child. The case was remanded to be heard at Rangiora on the following day.
