ANGLING COMPETITION.
The Otago Anglers' Association's final competition of the season was held on Cup Day. The President's prize was won by Mr P. Aitken, and the second prize (presented by Mr J. Mendelsohn) by Mr W. Fraser. All fish caught neve sent in for tiie use of the inmates of the Benevolent Institution, ahd were much appreciated. Tho following competitors have sent in returns :— P. Aitken, thirteen fish, weighing 261 b; W. Fraser, fourteen fish,.weighing 251 b; J. King, eight fish. weighing 201 b; R. Forrest, twelve 'fish weighing 161 b j J. Nelson, six fish weighing 121 b; J. Robertson, six fish weighing 9£lb. In addition to the abovo, several anglers, . whose returns -are not to hand, sent iv their fish, which made a total of sevontyono fish, weighing over 1301 b. Messrs Aitken, Fraser and Nelson fished the Pomahaka River, the bait being the natural cricket. Mr King fished the Clutha River, using the artificial minnow, and "Messrs Forrest and' Robertson the Waipalii, using the fly.' '
