BOOT TRADE DISPUTE.
; TO THE EDITOR. ' Sib, — It is not the intention of the I Manufacturers' Asaociation to carry on a I newspaper controversy; but we take this '. opportunity of stating that Mr Williams's letter contained a number of misrepreseni tations and .truth only partly told. As the case is likely to come before the Court, i it is not the correct thing to traverse , matters which the Court -will be called ■ upon to decide, and we consider it very i questionable policy on the part of Mr Williams to lave "written such a letter, considering that he has just been nomi- : nated a member of the Conciliation Board, and that probably he may be called upon in his official capacity to decide whether 1 the "cat has been under the monkey's coercion." We do not know what he means by this, but no doubt as a member of the Conciliation Board he will be able to i explain. — lam, Ac., . JAS.< A. FROSTICK, ' President Boot Manufacturers' ; Association.
