LINCOLN.

The ordinary meeting of this Board was held on Monday, Feb. 3 ; present— Messrs J. W. Overton (chairman), P. Henley, T. Leathern, J. Sinclair and F. Watson. The Selwyn. County Council ■wrote regarding the proposed bridge over the river Halswell at Tai Tapu, asking for an estimate of the cost, and how it was proposed that the funds should be provided. The Clerk was instructed to reply that no estimate of the cost had been made,, the Board relying upon the Council undertaking the work. It was resolved — "That Mr East see Mr Quealy and arrange for a suitable traffic bridge, ascertain the probable cost and submit the same at the next ordinary meeting of the Board." The following tenders were accepted : — J. Carboy, 400 yds screened shingle; Payne and Thompson, 600 yds unscreened shingle ; J. Kiseley, first section of Dawson's Creek. Fresh tenders were ordered to be invited for the second section of the creek, and the remaining 1000 yds gravel, as well as tenders for keeping clean for twelve months Minchin's Creek, with Bladder's and Townshend's drains, returnable by next meeting. •
