HAWEEA, Feb. 13. It is windy and rain is threatening for the second day's races, but the attendance is again large. Eesults : — FLYING HANDICAP, of 80 soys; Bix furlong's -St Laura Bst 91b, 1; Umslopogaas 7st l_lb, 2; Orion Bst 51b, 3. All started. St Laura came with a rush in the straight and won by the shortest of heads. Time—lmin 174 sec. Dividend— £tj 14s. SECOND HANDICAP HACK HUBDLES, of 40 sovs; one mile and a half— Egmont 9st 131 b, 1; Conscript 10st51b, 2; Kaitoa 9at 51b, 3. Won by a length. The winner was under the whip for half a mile. Time— Smin. The jockeys are wearing a black band on the arm out of respect to young Hammond.
