The letter "from the Minister of Lands approving of the proposed exchange of land at Cashmere was referred to a committee. In reply to a letter from the Malvern Boad Board, asking that the dog registration office there should not be closed, it was decided to allow the office to remain open and to appoint Mr Popper registrar. Messrs Garrick and Co. wrote on behalf of Mr L. White, calling attention to the state of the Little Bakaia Eiver, and more especially that portion between Mr White's farm and the sea, and offering to contribute towards the cost of keeping the watercourse clear. The matter was referred to a committee to make inquiries and report to next meeting. The Minister of Public Works wrote forwarding reports and plans in connection with the Halswell drainage scheme. The tender of J. Neill, jun., for .£9 10s for repairing the Halswell embankment, was accepted. After some routine business had been transacted the meeting terminated.
