BIBLE CHRISTIAN CHURCH:

The fourth day of the district meeting was opened at 8.30 a.m. yesterday. Several questions arising from the proposed union with the Wesleyans and Free Methodists were discussed, and recommendations to the conference to be held at Auckland were made. A deputation from the Christchurch Ministers' Association was received, consisting of toe Revs J. Dawson and C.Penny. The deputation congratulated the meeting on the success that had attended the efforts of the Bible Christians, and briefly referred to the question of Methodist union. The Eevs J. Orchard and F. Quintrell suitably replied. The Eev J. S. Smalley and Messrs Blackwiell and Allen were also welcomed as visitors, and were replied to by the Eev W. Grigg. v An address was passed to the Bible Christian Conference in England, expressing thanks for the consent it had given to the proposed union. After luncheon the Session adjourned in order to pay a visit to the Kaiapoi Factory. The Chairman of Directors, Mr Blackwell, kindly conducted the members through j-fche various departments. In the evening the annual missionary tea and public meeting were held, the former being in the Orange Hall and the latter in the Wesleyan Church, which had been kindly' lent for the occasion. The speakers were the Eevs J. Orchard, W. Eeady, B. H. Ginger and L. Eyah. Mr E. Eeid, sen., presided, this being . a fitting tribute to the honour of the founder of ihe Bible Christian Church in New Zealand.

Inimitable joy ! To sit at early dawn, Noontide or evening sweet — toidly sit Drawing new inspirations with each breath j_ curling wreaths of dainty blue-grey smoke, And build such Spanish castles in the air, Ne'er doubting in that pleasing frame of mind Complete fulfilment of each idle dream. Here, then, is bliss; not surely in stern facts. n fancy rather, where we all may rove. Inlist, then, to your aid an " Indian Chief," For none can give enchantment like to this.
