The Board spent some hours over them, and the meeting was rather disorderly. 'Mr F. W. Marchant, Timaru, who asked a year, and Mr H. W. O'Connor 'expressed surprise that the pump dredge was; not giving better results, as one in use at Albany was doing immensely more work, a dredge costing .£24,000 removing 250,000 cubic yards in six months. It was resolved to claim the underwriters for a share of the cost of repairing ithe recent accident to the pump dredge, whereby thesuction pipe stuck in the bottom and broke off.
