The Wellington correspondent of the Auckland Star telegraphed the other day that Sir R. Stout, Mr 801 l and Mr A. S. Menteath will submit themselves as representatives of the Wellington constituency at the next general election. Mr Duthie, it is understood, has decided not to seek election. According to the Post the Hon James Carroll is likely to find a political resting place as the Native representative of the Eastern District, the seat at present held by Mr Wi Pere, while the latter gentleman will be elovated to the Upper House. A- Dunodin, rumour mentions Mr Scobie Mackenzie as likely to contest the city electorate at the coming general election. ' .
