Australasian Swimming Championships. — The first of these championships will be held to-night, at the Natatorium, Sydney, under, the auspices of the New South Wales Association. The distance is the .220 yds, and New Zealand will be represented by Messrs Bailey and Hoey, of Auckland, and Mr Stratton, the local representative. The other championship's, and dates are: — Mile Championship, Thursday afternoon, in the Hawkesbury Eiver; Quarter-mile, at the . Natatorium, on Friday night ; Half-mile, on. Saturday afternoon, at Balmain ; and the 100 yds, on Wednesday,. Jan. 22, at the Natatorium. The Water Polo Championship may be held on Saturday afternoon' also, provided a New Zealand team can be arranged. If so, it will probably consist of Messrs Bailey, Hoey, Hedges, Allen, Auckland; and Stratton, Watson |and Fox, Christchurch. In addition to the championships, several handicap races will be'swuin off at the meeting, for which Messrs Fox and Watson, of Christchurch, are entered.
