ACCIDENT ON THE RAILWAY.

This morning C. W. White, shunter at the Eangiora Eailway Station, met with a severe accident. He was engaged Bhunting trucks attached to the train going to Culverden, and by some means his left foot was caught in the points, with the result that a truck knocked Mm down and passed over his leg lengthways. Dr Volckman, of Oxford, who happened to be on the platform, rendered medical aid promptly, and the injured man was conveyed home, where he was attended by Drs Volekman (Eangiora) and Baber. It was found that no bones were broken, but that the calf of the. leg and the thigh were severely lacerated and bruised. Mr White has only recently been transferred from Chriatchurch. to Eangiora.
