ANGLING.

Sport at Temuka during the holidays has not (says the Leader) been very good, and no exceptional takes are recorded. • Mr Hobhouse, of Wanganui, who has fished very consistently with the fly, has had baskets averaging about 61b, his best fish going a little over lib. The favourite fly has been the " claret hackle." The rivers are rather full for this time of the year, and fish appear to have plenty of feed. Mr G. Phillips on Tuesday evening landed from the Opihi a well-conditioned fish scaling 111 b.. The Waihi fish are reported to be the liveliest, and some fair takes have been made at the mouth of the Orari.
