■ ■•— - --[Pee. Pbess Association. I TIMARTJ, Nov. 28. The Wesleyan District Synod sat to-day with lay representatives in financial session. The Rev W. Morley, in his opening address, said that the year had not been marked by activity in building, but a hew church at St Albans had been a handsome addition to the properties, and the Durham Street Church had added a good hall for Bible olasses. He referred to the extension of settlement in the North Island, and the need of following people to their new homeß. The subject of Methodist union must engage their attention, and aIBO the question of introducing a Bible text-book into the public schools. As to the latter, he believed that a majority of the Methodists in New Zealand were in favourofit. The church property report stated that the trust income had been £3423, and the expenditure J83862. Seat rents produced £732. The borne mission report showed J2417 collected. The assessments for next year amount to £457 10s. The recommendations of the Federal Council regarding Methodist union weru adopted after a discussion on the size of circuits, and a vote of thanks waß passed to the Federal Council for the way in which it had dealt with the details of the proposed union. A committee reported in favour of relieving the Rev W. Morley of the duty of travelling in connection with hia duty as general secretary, and a vote of thanks was passed to him for his valuable services. In the evening several members of the Synod gave open-air addresses in favour of prohibition.
