Alter the Telegraph Office dosed this morning, the Hbrowhenua Block Bill was passed through committee with the amendments made by the Native Affairs Committee. A new clause was added, on the Hon J. M'Kenzie's motion, setting up a Eoyal Commission to inquire folly into the sale of the block and all dealings in connection therewith. The Bill was reported,, and put through iti final stages on the! voices. • BANS BILL. | The Bank of New Zealand and Banking Aot Amendment Bill was reported from committee and put through its final stages ! by 24 to 18. I At 2.1Q the House adjourned till 11 a.m. MOBNING SITTING. The House met at 11 a.m. BBBAGH 6? PBrniißQE. Sir Labnaoh, chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, called attention tot what he regarded as a breach of privilege, on the part of Mr George Hutchison, whoj on Thursday last gave notice of a question relating to some evidence taken before the Publio Accounts Committee. The Spbakbb ruled that it was a breach, of privilege to publish evidence taken before a Select Committee, before that committee had reported to the House. Th£ Hqn, E. J» Seddon, in order to give Mr Hutchison an, opportunity for explanation, moved that a breach of privilege had been committed. After considerable discussion, , Mr Q. Hutchison said he might possibly' have committed a technical breach of privilege, but he asked the House to con-, aider that he did so because he thought the House had a, right to information on this matter, and that was his only reason I for doing as. he had done. After a further lengthy discussion, Mr Seddon's motion was carried by 81 to 12. The result of the motion was then oommunioated by the Speaker to Mr Hutchison, who. had left the Chamber after he, had made feis speech, and remained outside until be w« sent for. The Ron. E. J.. Seddon taid it was not his intention to go further in the matter, aa be thought that the resolution itaelß waa a sufficient punishment. He regretted, however, that when the hon member for Pates* returned to the Chamber he should be applauded by members as though he. had done a noble aotiou. Mr Hutchison said he at once recognised and bowed to the decision of the House, a.nd wished to express his regret that, under the circumstances, he had committed a technical breach of the standing ordera. Mr Eabnbhaw moved that the House adjonrh till 11 a.m. on Monday, which waa lost by 32 to 80, and at 1.810, the, House i adjourned till 2.30 p.m. on Monday. fin yesterday's division list on the Bank Bill Mr M'Lachlan was paired for the, Bill and Mr Lawry against it.]
