[Pbb Pbkßß Association.] WELLINGTON, August 15. The County ' Conference balance-sheet shows a credit of £18. The principal business this morning was the discussion of Hospital and Charitable Aid rate, which several members said pressed unduly on their districts. JThe conference was* in favour of making the method of levying more clear, and that the race should be based upon all property, real and personal. A resolution was passed that for roads of colonial importance. Parliament should refund the total cost for main district roads, and gi<re a subsidy of pound for pound for purely local roads, the present subsidyion rates. The Conference expressed Btrong disapproval of the Public Tenders and. Contracts Bill,- so fat I as related to the carrying out of contracts for local bodies.
