Winter Work Fund.
A meeting of the General Committee of the Winter Woik Fund was held last evening ; present— The Mayor of Chrisfcchureh (in ths chair), the Mayora of St Albans and Linwood, and Mesßra C. P. Hnlbert, C. Burgees and G. Moon. The Entertainment Committee reported that the Sir Henry Bishop Glee Society had agreed to provide the entertainment to be given in aid of the funds at the Theatre Boyal, on Monday evening. The theatre had been given free of charge, Mr Brown, of the D.1.C., had agreed to supply a piano, and the Silkstone Soap Company would provide the programmes free of charge. Mr H. Fuhrmann would furnish the Btage. The report of the committee was adopted, and it was decided to leave the arrangements for the concert in the hands of Mr Moon. Arrangements were made for the sale of tickets. A letter was received from the Secretary of the Chriutchurch Musical Union Btating that the next subscription concert of the society would take place on August 27, and offering to place five hundred 2a 6d tickets at the disposal of the committee on condition that the proceeds of any of these ticketß disposed of should go to the Winter Work Fund. It was decided to accept the offer with thanks.
