Frederic Villiers.
♦ " Battles, Bivouaca and Banquets " was the title which Mr Frederic Villiera haa bestowed upon the lecture with which he entertained a large audience at the Theatre Boyal last night. It was not so thrilling aa theleoture which he gave on his first appearance before the Chriatohurch public, but there was more of the humorous element in it, though, as if to counterbalance this feature, the audience were treated to a very aurfeit of horrors at the close. The experiences which he related were gleaned' from many lands, America, Afghanistan, India, Abyaßinia and China. The moat interesting portion of the lecture was that descriptive of the operations of the Japanese against Foit Arthur, and the horrors which accompanied the capture of that stronghold. Mr Villiers saw the fearful work performed, and took several snapshots with bin Kodak of the awful scenes he witnessed. These, with many other pictures, were shown by the limelight last night. To* night he will give his last lecture, " Through sword, fire and water, or all for Gordon."
