An Interesting Discovery.

[Special to Pbbbb Association.] ADELAIDE, August 14. An interesting discovery has been made at Bradßhaw's Creek, in the northern territory, A baobab tree was found bearing a memorial dated Oct. 9 with " fifteen " or " seventy-fire," and signed Fred Adams, Southampton. Other characters, of which ' the writing is indistinct, were also dis- j covered. It is thought that the in- j soription must have been cut either in the year 1775 or 1815, as both dates' belong to an earlier period than any recorded exploration of the territory. The inscriptions were probably made by a ship's crew in search of water. 'At spring tides a vessel of light draught could navigate the creek to the vicinity of the tree, which is a hundred miles from the coaat j or it might have been a shipwrecked crew in search of food.
