ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

FROZEN TO DEATH. [Psb Press Association.] DUNEDIN, August 1. Nicholas Deen, a foreigner, was frozen to death last night at St Clair. About 11 a.m. to-day a horse harnessed to a spring cart standing in Mr R. W. England's yard in Tnam Street took fright and bolted into the street, turning towards Colombo Street. When opposite Messrs Davis and Hawkes' shop, the proprietors of the shop endeavoured to stop it, but did not succeed. - A bystander, however, rushed forward and got hold of the horse's head and stopped it, just in time to prevent it from running into a tramcar which j came round the corner at the time. His promptness prevented any damage being I done.
