[Feb Pbess Association^ NELSON, Jult 29. The weather broke yesterday, after a succession of thirty-three fine days with frosty nights. TIMABU, July 29. Six inohes of snow fell at Fairlie yesterday and last night. There is a wintry wind here to-day, and Bnow clouds are pasting out at Bea. William John Toung and his assistant got through from Fairlie to Pukaki last week, and back to Fairlie on Saturday night. They report two feet of snow between Burkes Pass and Tekapo, two feet and a half between Tekapo and Balmoral, three to three and a half feet at "Wold's Plains, two feet on Simon's Pass, and one and a half feet at Pukaki. Ab far as the eye could see there was very little bare ground visible, and it was extremely cold. Dogs were frozen, and small birds were dropping off the trees at the homesteads. The two men got through with great difficulty. The horses had icicles five or six incheß long from their noßtrils. DUNEDIN, Jult 29. The weather is bitterly cold, and if is now snowing.
