Art Exhibition.

The Palette Club Exhibition, in aid of the Winter Work Fund, was opened at ndon to-day. Owing to illn e_s, hiß Worship the Mayor was unable to attend. The Bketohes exhibited are of a very high order of merit, and are well worthy of careful inspeotion. The exhibits comprise over one hundred and fifty coloured Bketohes, and some fifty studies in black and white. The Wellington contribution was expected thiß afternoon, and the exhibits will be hung in time for the evening. Notioeable among the exhibits are some fine work by the President (Mr ,T. M. Madden), Messrs W. Menzies Gibb, B. Fairholme, R. A. Gill, T. Cooper, T. Cain, Miss Stoddart, Miss Meeson and the Misses Gardner. The exhibition only remains open till to-morrow night.
