THE PACIFIC CABLE.
The Premier says that although the colonies are not unanimous with respect to the Pacific cable, it may be assumed that New South Wales is willing to join with Victoria and Queensland in supporting it, and as the Hon J. Ot, Ward's trip has probably impressed him with the importance of the Canadian route, New Zealand might he reckoned upon to cooperate. The matter, he says, is one for investigation, and he suggests that the four colonies should appoint a Commission to gather information as to the CDBt and probable revenue. CUSTOMS TARIFF. In the Legislative Conncil the Hon C. Sargeant moved that the Government invite a convention of other colonies, with full power to arrange for assimilating the various Customs tariffs. The debate was adjourned. GOLDMINING. ' STDNET, June 26. Eich stone has been struck in the Victory Mine, Pambula, and it is estimated chat it will yield 12oz of gold to the ton. THE DEAN OASE. The Dean Commission is likely to be re-opened to hear the evidence of some of the jurymen who convicted Dean. It is alleged that some of the jurymen have expressed the opinion that if they had heard the evidence giveu before the Commission they would have acquitted the -prisoner. AN AIMLESS DEBATE. The debate on the Premier's motion was aimless. Sir G. E. Dibbs said that while assisting the Government to pass Supply Bills, he would strenuously oppose a Loan Bill involving a million of money. Sir H. Parkes denounced what he termed penal dissolution. Thia month's Snpply was granted, and the House adjourned.
THE RECIPROCAL TREATY.

In the debate on the Address-in-Reply, the treaty entered into with New Zealand came in for severe strictures at the hands of the Opposition.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
PERTH, JtJNB 26.
Parliament has been opened. The Speech deolared that the finances were thoroughly sound, and that the credit of the colony was excellent. It mentioned that the Government proposes to undertake deep boring in Coolgardie, and intends to reduce the duties on the necessaries of life.
