ADDINGTON YARDS.

. ♦ THIS DAT. [Peb "Stab's" Pigeon Exprisb.] The live stock market at Addington to-day again drew a very large attendance of farmers and the general public. Entries in the sheep classes— especially fat— were again large, but cattle of all sorts showed a falling off in numbers, and pigs were present in full force. Pat Cattle. — The beef supply for the week was 120 head, 47 of which, including some of the best beasts, were in the handß of dealers, and therefore did not come under the hammer. The entry consisted for the most part of medium to light weight eteers and heifers, very few. inferior sorts coming forward. Tradesmen did not appear anxious to open out at the commencement of the Bale, but towards the close matters brightened up somewhat, and the yarding waß cleared at from 14s to 20s per 1001 b. Dairy Cows.— A large yarding of cowb i and springers contained very few really good sortß, and the sale dragged considerably. Beat sorts brought from jE7 to JBB 10a, others from £4> to £6 10?. Store Cattle.— The- eh try of etore cattle was one of the poorest on record, only a few aged cowa and a pen of calves being on offer. Fat Sheep.— Between 7000 and 8000 fat sheep were yarded. The entry throughout was of fairly good quality, containing a fair proportion of sheep fib for export, and some really good butchers' sorts, as well as well as some merinog, which were by no means bad sorts. The market opened at quite up to last waek's prices, and there appeared to be plenty of buyers for the better sorts. ... Pat Lambb.— The small entry of fat lambs contained very few of first-claßß quality, and the sale was not a brzek one. Those suitable for export brought from 7s to 83 9d, and butchem' eorts from 5a to j 6s 9d. „., . .'I Stobe Sheep,— Store sheep did not come forward in such large numbers as of late, but the entry contained Borne really good turnip sheep and breeding ewes. The sale showed more life and priceß hardened somewhat, nearly the whole yarding being cleared. Croßß-bred ewes* to lamb early,^ brought up to 8a 7d 5 good three-quarter fat sheep, for topping off, f rom 8» to 9s 3d, hajffat turnipers 6a 6d to 7b 6d, backward sorts from 4s 9d to 5b 9d, and lambs from 4a to 5a 6d. _ , . Pigs.— Some 600 pigs were on offer, but there was a lack of quality, and the market wa 8 decidedly uneven, it being hard to bring sellers and buyere together. A fall took place in all clauses, baconers averaging ; 25a per lb and porkorß a Blight shade over that, while storeß ware nofc wanted at any price. ___«_-_.
