[Special to thk " Stab."J WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. The Cabinet has finally resolved upon the introduction of a Bill to amend the Bank Note Issue Act of 1893, containing a clause to prohibit the amalgamation of the Bank of New Zealand with any other bank, unless with the consent of Parliament. No other banking legislation will be proposed this session, and the result will be that the Bank of New Zealand arid Assets Company will remain as at present. It is not expected there will be any debate on the Bill to be submitted to the House.
