Of 6196 old shares all but 800 were trancferred to the new company, and many of those belong to absentees. The retiring directors were re-eleoted. In moving the adoption of the report the chairman, in enumerating some of the causes of the agricultural depression, mentioned the high Customs tariff as injuriously affecting the farmerß, while none of the protective duties assist- them at all.
