Owing to the tef need of the directors to increase wages a shilling per day, a huhw dred smelters at Port Adelaide, employed | by the Broken Hill and Junction mines, have struck. Six bricklayers will be seleoted for work | at the Sunnyside ABylutn on Monday after* • noon, at three o'clock at the Labour Bureau. Four brioklayers* labourers will be selected at the aame time and place. Applications from competent men will be received after 9.80 on Monday morning. I Councillor Cooper having represented : the necessitous cases whioh exi*t amongst the men employed on the relief work to the proper authorities, instructions h&va been given that the men way, it they . ohoose, receive their pay each night.
