His Honor said that but for the prisoner's grey hairs he would have ordered the lash. As it was, he imposed a sentence of seven years' penal servitude. Fept. 13. E. H. Cooper, for false pretences, waß sentenced to s<z months' imprisonment. P. C. W. Bierre, for embezzlement of Eoad Board and Foresters' funds, at Danevirke, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. . \
