St Albans Borough Council.

♦ . An ordinary meeting of the Sfc Albans Borough Council was held last night : present — Councillors Money, Penteney, Brooker, Morgan, Keig and Waymoufch. In the absence of the Mayor, Councillor Waymouth wav voted to the chair. The usual reports were received and adopted. Correspondence was read as under :— the Wesleyan School Committee, asking that the rates should be remitted. Referred to the Finance Committee. From the Tramway Company, asking permission to lay down two extra loop lines.,. Referred to the Workß Committee. It was decided to hand over to the chairman or! the Works Committee the sum of £25 to be expended in various works, in order to assist the unemployed. After the transaction of Borne routine business the meeting terminated.
