Loyalty and Launceston were associated in a mile spin, bnt the former was evidently disinclined to j gallop a yard, and it took lmin S6}aec to I wind np the go. Portsea pnt in a service- 1 able mile and a half, and Cooya beat: Steadfast in a soundly-run mile. I The leading . lines to-night for the Cup were:— Boo to 100 and 500 to 70 taken twice about Light Artillery. Eventually '7 to 1 was the best offer against the Trenton colt ; 1000 to 80 was apparently the oommisslon written against Titan, and 500 to 50 was accepted about Carnage. Camoola was nibbled at at 100 to 8, while 100 to 10 was on offer about Loyalty. The following horaes have been scratched for the Gold Cvp :— Donation. Memah and Yabba. . Mabch 23. There was splendid weather, for the holiday, and it promises well for the races to-morrow. Setting on the Gold Cup is unchanged. For the Doncaster Handicap, Stanmore is the popular fanoy, with C. B. and Chambeebee for places.
