CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. j (Before Messrs K. Westenra and J. M. Bath am, J.P.'b.) Drunkenness. — A man pleaded not guilty to a charge of beiag drunk in "Victoria Street on Monday evening. The man, who had only been liberated from gaol Monday morning, was remanded till next day to enable him to call witnesses. Alleged Larceny. — Two little boys, aged eleven years and ten years respectively, were charged with stealing, on March 15, at Linwood, one tin of biscuits, value 4s, the property of J. A. Eedpath. Both boys denied the offence. The prosecutor s*id he did not wish to press the charge. The evidence showed that on the dat.s in question the prosecutor missed a tin of biscuits from his shop on the East Belt. The tin was found uuder a bridge on the Drain Road by an employee of the Linwcod Borough Council. One of the boys told another boy that he had taken the biscuit 3 from pro3ecutor'B shop. In answer to their Worships the two boys admitted having taken the biscuits. They were convicted, severely cautioned and discharged. (Before Mr R. Beetham, S.M.) Karafcen, £8 19a ; Langdown and Co. v. W. J. Gorrie, .£lO 43 9d, Mr M'Connel for plaintiffs; F. Cros3 v. S. Deighton, ;611 4s 9d, Mr Raphael for plaintiff. The case of E. G. Staveley v. L.A. Levy, claim £52 8s lOd, was adjourned till March 29.
