RAM AND WWE FAIR.
•*> SECOND DAY. The annual ram and ewe fair under the i auspices of the Canterbury Agricultural ' and Pastoral Association was continued at the show grounds yesterday. Business commenced at 9 a.m., when the remaining lots of the Border Leicester rams were offered. These were followed by the English Leicester s, and the sale was concluded shortly before 6 p.m. with the ewes. During the morning the attendance was large, but towards the afternoon it diminished considerably, and when the ewes were offered there were few buyers on I the ground. There was slightly better i competition for the English Leicesters, and competition was fairly keen for those sent forward by the Hon E. Gray. The highest figure obtained for these was 25gs, at whioh price the pick was scoured by the Lincoln School of Agriculture ; the 40 sold averaging Bgs apiece. Mr J. Haydon obtained 23_gs for a one-shear ram, and two of Mr Little's rams of the Every M'Lean strain reached 20gs apiece. The ewe sale was a perfect fiasco, less than 50 changing hands ont of an entry of over 200, and prices for pure-bred Bheep were little, if anything, above those paid for croae-breds in the Addington yards.
