A Strange Story.
* [Per Press Asbociation.l TIMABU, Jan. 30. An odd story was told at the Police Court by a youth of eighteen, who pleaded " guilty " to wilfully breaking a Bhop window. He states that he did it in view of a constable for the purpose of getting a night's lodging and supper. He Btated that he oame from Australia to look for bis father, William Ogilvy, said to be farming in tbe Middle Island, . and, by means of a list from the directory, called on all the Ogilvys from Dunedin up. He bad not seen his father since he was six years old, but had lived with an aunt in New South Wales. He asked, the Court to help him in his search, and said that he broke the window in the hope that his lather would see the name in the papers. The Justices were unsympathetic, ahd discharged him on the promise to go to work, and not ramble penniless any more. A situation was offered him in court, aud he accepted it.
