[Pbb "Stab's" Pigeon Expeksb.J The weather was decidedly moist fo the sale of live stock at Addington marke to-day,, and while making matters some what unpleasant for those whose dutiei compelled them to attend the sale, the rail was hailed with delight by graziers wh< own light lands, the feed having beei pretty well burnt up by the dry weathei prevailing lately. The attendance wai fairly good, but business in most'depart ments showed a lack of animation. Store Sheep.— About 2500 sheep oecu pied the store pens, including a number o cross-bred and merino ewes with lambs For these there was hardly any demand while hoggets were disposed of at barelj up to late rates. Fat Sheep.-— The fat pens were occupiec by about 3000 Bhorn sheep. The quality with the exception of a pen or two ol show sheep, was only medium. Businesi opened fairly well, but the sale had not proceeded far when oui express left. Fat Lambs. — About 500 fat lambs cam< forward, and it was soon evident that th< demand was not equal to the supply There was nothing but local competition buyers for export having ceased to operate and prices fell accordingly. Fat Cattlb.— Ninety head of fat. cattle formed the week's supply of beef, and wai quite sufficient for lecal requirements. Th< entry was made up mostly of light-weighl steerd and heifers, with a few cows, wind sold at the following prices : — Steei % 3 from £7 12s 6d to £9 15s, heifers from £7 10s tc £7 17s 6d, and cows from £5 to JBB 2a 6d. Stoee Cattle.— The store pens were sparsely filled, not many young stool being entered. The sale exhibited very little life, and eale3 were made with difficulty. - ■.* Pigs.— A small supply df pigs wae yarded, "and competition, except for young stores, waß anything but keen. Baconera about held their own, porkers showed a decline, and good useful stores showed a slight improvement.!
